ABOUT US
St Canice’s is a Jesuit parish in the heart of Sydney. Rooted in our Catholic faith and values and guided by Ignatian Spirituality, our parish comprises a wonderfully urban blend of worship and service to people from all walks of life.
Founded by St Ignatius Loyola more than 450 years ago, the Society of Jesus is a religious order of priests and brothers – known as Jesuits – committed to the service of Christ.
Jesuits are contemplatives in action. The rich tradition of Ignatian Spirituality gives us a way to examine our deeper desires and discern God’s plan for us in the world. Inspired by that discernment, we can all serve the Catholic Church wherever we see there is need.
