The afternoon of opera highlights arranged by the Wednesday group of volunteers at St Canice’s Kitchen was a resounding success this Sunday afternoon.
The acoustics in this 19th century church of St Canice’s in Elizabeth Bay are excellent and the church provides a wonderful venue for an afternoon of entertainment listening to such beautiful voices.
In lauding the singers for their prodigious talent, our parish priest, Father Chris Jenkins SJ, extended a warm invitation for the group to return again next year. He also extended his appreciation to the guests and volunteers for their ongoing support in providing lunches every day for the needy of the area.
Friends, guests and parishioners then gathered in the late afternoon sunshine to meet the young people and to share a glass of wine.
Thank you all.
